Reid Psaltis
A native son of the Northwest, Reid got his art degree from Western Washington University and now resides in Portland, Oregon. Though his academic emphasis was on painting, Reid has since largely focused his energies on producing his self-made comics. His current set of paintings entitled “Tools” have been hung in venues across Portland, and his original comic “Carry On, Carrion” is featured in Top Shelf 2.0′s online comics program.
Armed with a keen intellect and a passion for scientific discovery, Reid dabbles in what might be called scientific whimsy. His tales hold equal appeal to both PHD Biologists and starry-eyed dreamers. Here is what Reid has to say about “Carry On, Carrion,” in his own words:
“I can’t decide if I am an idealist or a realist. Ideally I could be both, but that doesn’t seem very realistic. In an effort to figure it out, I make comics about nature and animals meeting their demise. They are meant to be serious and humorous; cynical, yet passionate.”
